Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common queries about our SNOO hire service.
Our Cleanliness Commitment
We take cleanliness seriously. Every SNOO is thoroughly sanitised before each hire, including:
- Vacuuming and steam cleaning of mesh walls (inside & out)
- Laundered and regularly replaced SNOO Sacks and sheets
- Full surface anti-septic wipe-down and final inspection
- Quarterly professional deep clean and service for each SNOO
How long do parents usually hire a SNOO for?
Most parents hire the SNOO for 5-6 months, often booking ahead of their newborn's arrival. This typically covers the period until babies are ready to transition to a standard cot. However, some parents prefer to try it for 1-2 months and then extend their hire period as needed. We offer flexible options to suit your family!
How do I return the SNOO?
We make returns easy! We'll contact you via email or phone approximately 3 days before your hire period ends to discuss your preferred return method. You can drop off your SNOO back to us in Patterson Lakes for free. If you'd prefer us to arrange a pickup, we can do so for a small fee.
Is there a cleaning process once a SNOO is returned?
Absolutely! Hygiene is our top priority. All our SNOOs undergo a rigorous sanitation and cleaning process before they reach the next family. This includes:
- Thorough vacuuming within the mesh walls.
- Sanitation with hospital-grade, baby-safe antiseptic materials.
- Steam cleaning of the mesh walls, inside and out.
- SNOO Sacks are professionally laundered, and replaced when required or showing signs of wear.
- All surfaces are wiped down and inspected.
Can I extend my rental period?
Yes, extending your hire is simple! We'll get in touch with you 3-5 days before your original hire period ends to see if you'd like to continue. Please note that extension payments need to be completed at least 2 days before your current hire period concludes to ensure uninterrupted use.
What happens if my baby doesn’t like the SNOO?
While most babies love SNOO, we understand that every baby is unique. In the event you wish to return your SNOO earlier than the original end of your hire period, we can provide a pro-rated refund outside the initial 2-week minimum hire period. The minimum hire is charged at a weekly rate, and $50 cancellation fee will apply for early returns. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions or contact us for specific details.
How do I transition my baby into a standard cot?
Most babies transition smoothly by 4–6 months as they develop self-soothing skills. Here's a simple guide:
- Arms Out: Start with one arm out during naps. Once settled, try both arms out for naps and overnight.
- Weaning Mode (Optional): You can enable Weaning Mode in the SNOO app, where motion only starts when your baby fusses—helping them adjust to sleeping without constant movement. This step is helpful but not required.
- Move to Cot: Once baby sleeps well with both arms out (with or without Weaning Mode), they're likely ready for a standard cot.
- Trust your baby's cues and go at your own pace!
Is the SNOO really safe?
Yes, SNOO is designed with safety as its top priority and is often called the safest baby bed ever made. The SNOO Sack securely attaches to safety clips, preventing your baby from rolling to an unsafe position during sleep. This ensures they stay on their back, which is the safest sleeping position recommended by paediatricians and organisations like Red Nose Australia to reduce the risk of SIDS. All SNOO functions, including motion levels and white noise, have been rigorously tested and are safe for your baby. The SNOO Smart Sleeper also meets Australian Safety standards.
